Stephen is an Associate in the Insurance Coverage Department in our Firm’s New York City office. His practice focuses on insurance coverage defense and commercial litigation, counseling domestic and international insurers in a wide range of complex insurance coverage disputes related to commercial general liability, commercial auto liability, professional liability, builder’s risk, homeowner, property, umbrella liability and excess liability policies. He has extensive experience in coverage issues spanning the nation and in New York and New Jersey. With his experience, he adds valuable knowledge and skill in addressing our clients’ needs and achieving our clients’ goals in a cost-effective manner.

Prior to joining Marshall, Conway, Bradley & Gollub, P.C., Stephen worked extensively on coverage issues in state and federal courts on a variety of environmental pollution matters, including PFAS litigation. He also worked on asbestos matters in New York courts. He has represented clients in mediations and arbitration.

In addition to his insurance coverage experience, Stephen worked extensively in the area of commercial litigation, representing clients in disputes regarding contractual matters and allegations of bad faith. Stephen previously received a favorable decision from the SDNY dismissing all counts of bad faith against the insurer.

With his litigation experience, which includes dispositive motion practice and appellate work, Stephen is able to thoroughly identify issues and provide coverage analysis to our clients and prepare and execute strategic plans to achieve positive results. Stephen’s contributions to the Insurance Coverage Department allows our Firm to provide more of what our clients have come to expect from us, great results.

Stephen is licensed in New York State and the Federal Districts of Eastern and Southern New York. He has also practiced in other states across where his clients have needed representation. Through this country-wide experience, Stephen understands the intricacies of large-scale insurance coverage litigation and the issues that arise between defendant-insurers. With this experience on our Insurance Coverage team, we are better equipped to handle large-scale, industry-wide matters in the most cost-effective and results-driven manner our clients have come to depend on and expect.
