Michael Byrne

Of Counsel

Michael serves as Of Counsel in the Insurance Defense Department in our Firm’s New York City Office. His practice primarily focuses on construction accidents (including New York Labor Law). He also has extensive experience representing defendants in premises liability, motor vehicle accident, Dram Shop Act, and professional liability matters. Over 30+ years of practice, Michael has represented property owners, contractors, managing agents, franchise owner/operators, municipalities, security guard companies, national fast-food chains, school bus companies and drivers, attorneys, pharmacists, martial arts schools, restaurants, bars, and nightclubs.

Michael is a skilled litigator, able to effectively handle matters from pleadings through trial and appeal. Before joining the Firm, he supported and advised clients on insurance procurement, indemnification, and coverage issues, including McDonald’s owner/operators, insurance brokerages, the City of New York, Port Authority of NY/NJ, school bus contractors, and national insurance companies. Known for strategic thinking, he has drafted and argued multiple successful Motions for Summary Judgment in high exposure cases.

Michael is licensed in New York State and the Federal Districts of Eastern and Southern New York.
